Great portable scanner
By Geocouple
This is an excellent portable scanner. I have tried 3 other portable scanners. I kept two and returned the 3rd. Nearly gave up finding a quality scan till I tried this one. I've recommend it to all of my friends and colleagues. I have one for myself and bought another for a family member.
For photographs, the scan resolution is great. The colors are true. Other scanners leave "speckles", but this one does not. Also, this one seems to pre-clean the photos in some fashion. Other scanners easily leave dust streaks. But this one must have some sort of brush to catch the dust. Be sure to follow the instructions after every use to clean it.
Now for the awesome part ... so far I have scanned 13,805 photographs! I'm two-thirds done on our family photos. It will be a great way to share photos with the rest of the family. And, heaven forbid, if I had ever had a fire in the house, all the photos would have been destroyed. Now I have a digital copy for most of them and send regular updates to the rest of my family as I scan more.
After every 250 or so photos, I do the cleaning process.
Wish I would have found this before I bought the other three.
Another way I use this it to take it to meetings. When I need to copy someone's notes, or documents, I just run it through the scanner. The batteries seem to last a lot longer than I thought they would.

Scan, Scan, Scan with the SVP PS4200
By Princess Reader
When I was looking for a scanner to computerize all of my back paperwork I looked at many different scanners and read many reviews. Even though the SVP had some mixed reviews I thought I would give it a shot so I purchased the scanner unaware you need to have an SD memory card to do any scanning I then purchased an SD card. Once I had the SD card I started scanning and went to town. I scanned more then 200 documents on the first set of batteries which I thought was fantastic. The files are easy to download onto the computer. I am not sure why they send the ABBYY FineReader disk because it does not have anything to do with downloading the files from the scanner. From what I see the ABBYY would be great if you have a file you only want to save a portion of, you can cut and paste what you want to keep. I may have some use for it in the future so I will keep it loaded on my computer. To sum up this review I am happy I purchased this scanner and look forward to a paperless house hold. I have not used the scanner for photo's since that was not my first thought in purchasing the scanner but I will give them a try in the future.

User Interface
By Rupali
Hi,
I bought this product and using in India now. It works great and USER EXPERIENCE is just too good. Just put the paper, CC, images etc and wow, what a sensor, speed and quality.
Only thing is once its connected to PC and user click to switch on its USB mode, one has press power off and on to start scanning again and come out of USB mode.
This thing just works :)
