5Solid Performer

I chose this scanner over the comparable Fujitsu model becasue of my positive experience w/ Canon over time. I recommend a call to Canon after installation if you need help tweaking the configuration settings, it makes a big difference. When I received this scanner, I couldn't get the scanner to load more than 5 of the expected 50 pages at a time. I called Canon tech support and the sent me a new roller kit via FedEx overnight, free of charge. The scanner works flawlessly now. I highly recommend this product.

3trouble

this could be a great product. It's affordable, it does duplex, and it's fast. Shortly after I started using it however, on multi-page scans some of the pages were blurry to the point of being unusable. I got a message that the page feeding assembly needed changing out, so I ordered a new assembly and changed it out, but with no improvement. So there seems to be a problem with the feeding mechanism, so some scans are blurry. This is a major problem. If it weren't for that defect, which I don't know if it's just my machine or widespread, it would be a great scanner.
This is a few weeks later. I am still having problems with the feeding mechanism, even after replacing it. I actually get more useful scanning out of my all-in-one Canon mf-6550. I love Canon, but I am not having a good experience with this dedicated scanner.

5Great scanner
By Laurie A. Buchfuhrer
I have a Fujitsu 6130 scanner that is rated twice as fast as this Canon scanner. It does work a little faster but for our scanning needs (a few to 20 or 30 pages) for each scan job (but very frequently) the difference in speed is not that noticeable or worth the extra money. It is comparable in price to the cheaper Fujitsu scansnaps that do not offer twain drivers for scanning.

We use this for scanning into EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and for that pupose, this scanner is about as good as the Fujitsu at twice the price. It is well worth the money and you won't be disappointed.
