Why are you waiting?

I had the GT-S50 model. With my setup, I just could not get it to do what I needed it to. I fought and scrapped with Epson about it, trying to get them to update their software, provide for a custom setting, yadda, yadda, yadda until finally, I just asked for a refund just before the warranty expired.
Enter the GT-S55. I really liked the prior model, but it just wouldn't do those last few things well (scanning long receipts, mainly). I bought the GT-S55 mostly because I liked the promise of the GT-S50 and was really impressed with Epson honoring their refund guarantee. I knew that I could get this one refunded if it also had problems.
I use it with Paperport 14 Professional. It does EVERYTHING I need it to do, without making much effort to learn how to customize settings and stuff. A bit higher in price, but it is truly a workhorse. After 5 months of intermediate use, I have not needed to ask Epson for any support whatsoever. Oh, yeah... the carrier sheet NEVER slips on this one, and, I have only had one paper jam and that was due to the paper being very wrinkled up to start with and I didn't get them all smoothed out correctly before feeding the workhorse!
It just works.
I love this machine :)
